Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

As the centre of Britain’s naval heritage, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is part of the active HM Naval Base Portsmouth, which can trace its history back to 1194. It showcases many ships from throughout history, including HMS Victory, made famous by its role as Nelson’s flagship in the Battle of Trafalgar. In 2013, a new oval-shaped museum was opened to display the Tudor warship Mary Rose.
